Shaw Yorizane, Jr., O.D., T.L.G., F.C.O.V.D.
Dr. Yorizane is a native of the Fresno area. He grew up in Reedley and attended undergraduate school at the University of California at Berkeley.
He completed his doctoral degree at Southern California School of Optometry after which he completed an additional residency in Vision Therapy (for amblyopia, eye turns, sports vision conditioning and enhancing visual conditions) and Pediatrics (from birth), an additional Fellowship in Developmental Vision (for vision related learning problems, traumatic brain/ vision conditions, and developmental changes from genetic, nutritional, environmental, body conditions), and his Lacrimal and Therapeutic Certification (for infections, inflammations, injuries, glaucoma, and other eye and body related diseases). He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, the Central California Optometric Society, Optometric Extension Program Foundation, and the International College of Optometrists in Vision Development, Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, Central California Optometric Study Group, International OD Excellence, Primary Eyecare Network, Sterling Management, and Vision West.
He was named the "Most Outstanding Senior Delt" of his graduating class, Young Dr of the Year by the state association, Young Alumni of the Year, Outstanding Speaker of the Year in multiple years, and has held the office of President and other offices in his local society and in many other groups, clubs, and different church affiliations. He is avidly involved in continuing education both as a participant and at times as a speaker.
